Description

Buca di Bacco, a fascinating and curios name rich in tradition and with a story behind it. Literally "Buca" means tavern or cellar and "Bacco" is the god of wine Dyonissus or Bacchus of Greek mythology. in the early '900s, a group of artists and intellectuals, in that period frequent visitors of Positano, gave this name to the cellar of a restaurant at the time used as a romantic and exclusive dance night club. The Buca di Bacco today is a superbly-positioned family run hotel and enjoys spectacular views of the coastline and the elegant resort of Positano. It represents excellent value for money. Guests start their day with breakfast on the large terrace overlooking the sea and the isle of Galli (the isle in Greek Mythology, where Odysseus was enchanted by the mermaids).
